About Forster Winzer Jesuitengarten Riesling Seco

"What one cannot achieve alone, many can accomplish together." With this philosophy, Forster Winzer was founded, a cooperative of over 100 dedicated winegrowers that blends tradition with innovation across generations. Guided by the belief that "quality should not be a luxury," their wines have garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious State Honour Award.

A notable example of their work is Forster Winzer Jesuitengarten Riesling Trocken, originating from the Jesuitengarten vineyard, north of Forst, one of the most esteemed in the Palatinate. Its name pays homage to the Jesuits, who in the 18th century were not only spiritual leaders but also agricultural experts, contributing to the advancement of viticulture in the region.

This 7-hectare site, nestled between the Pechstein and Kirchenstück vineyards, is exclusively planted with Riesling on soils of sandstone, basalt, and sandy marl, at an altitude of 120-150 metres. The winemaking process combines stainless steel with 1200-litre oak barrels (fuder), not to impart wood aromas, but to round and harmonise each bottle, enhancing freshness and precision.

Forster Winzer Jesuitengarten Riesling Trocken is an elegant and sophisticated Riesling, with a perfect balance between minerality and fruity notes, clearly reflecting the purity of the terroir and the rich history of local viticulture. A wine that is a delight to drink and tells a story of cooperation, tradition, and excellence.
