About Lucente

In 1990, Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi made history. Up until that point in Montalcino (a town in Tuscany, central Italy), few dared to deviate from the standards of the celebrated Brunello; however, these two visionaries transcended these boundaries, crafting a wine that ventured beyond the conventional. As staunch advocates of blending sangiovese and merlot, they laid the foundations of Tenuta Luce. From this winery in the southwest of the town, nestled in the Natural Park of Valle d’Orcia, their dreams began to materialize. Among them: Tenuta Luce La Vite Lucente.

Tenuta Luce La Vite Lucente is a youthful red, uncomplicated and straightforward. With just one year of aging, this wine serves as an introduction to the Tenuta Luce universe, where sunlight plays the starring role. Across various hills and elevations, this company cultivates nearly 200 hectares of vineyard, blending grape varieties and soil types: schist, clay, sand, and sandstone form the foundation of this locale, rich in microclimates, where the vineyards flourish, brimming with nuances. All vines face southward, basking in a dry and temperate climate, with cool, breezy nights.

Compared to other wines from the estate, Tenuta Luce La Vite Lucente presents a much more straightforward and uncomplicated concept. Its genesis mirrors that of the other bottles, with clusters meticulously hand-selected and macerations extending over fifteen days. Nonetheless, the distinctive character of Tenuta Luce La Vite Lucente emerges during the fermentation with indigenous yeasts (in stainless steel vats) and the aging in barrels for just one year. The malolactic fermentation also takes place in stainless steel vats.
