Godeval Cepas Vellas is born from that sensation of mindful pause, of gazing at the landscape unhurriedly, like someone who discovers something precious in simplicity.
 
In Valdeorras (Galicia), amidst slate slopes and memories, Bodegas Godeval has been reviving the voice of the white grape godello for decades. Initially a near-visionary project in the 1980s, it later became a winery open to the valley from the ancient Monastery of Xagoaza, where tradition and modernity coexist with little need for explanation.
 
Here, the godello variety, sourced from old vines facing south and absorbing the Atlantic character with a mineral accent, is cultivated with respect and patience. Godeval Cepas Vellas remains on its lees for 5 months to achieve a lively yet profound finish, with subtle fruit reminiscent of ripe stone fruit and fresh apple, enveloped in a texture that gains presence as it is savoured.
 
Godeval Cepas Vellas is a white wine that does not seek to impress at first glance, but rather invites one to linger a little longer in that mental space where things are well-crafted, where the noise subsides and everything fits naturally. Perhaps not much more is needed.
